Not for me.  Just to make sure I commented out the line
"set sort_browser=reverse-date" in my .muttrc, but the only result
from that was that the folders are now sorted alphabetically, just
like it says is the default for $sort_browser in the manual.

Now I'm curious, why would I see different behaviour from you?
For me, the order of mailboxes is definitely controlled by
$sort_browser.

Aha!  I found it, I just need to specify $sort_browser as unsorted.
But this messes up things for the file browser?  Not that the date
sorting was any good for those either...  Anyway, "unsorted" is a
bit misleading, since the mailboxes *are* sorted -- in the user
specified order.  It's truly unsorted only for directories.

My question now becomes: how can I have alpha sorting in the file
browser and the user specified order for my incoming mailboxes?


Anyway, thanks for the observation. :-)  This is much better already.
