It is a new install of Debian 2.1. The thread markers blinking, 
the 'quoted lines' or email addresses that appears gray under RedHat 5.2 
are like selected( or inverse ).
I don't understand.
Has somenody working mutt with Debian 2.1?
I tried it with the sample.muttrc from the source. That is wrong too.
With RedHat 5.2 I had no problem.
