I don't believe you can have mutt not check, but I *do* believe there
is a setting that will tell mutt not to abort the quit/change if new
mail does come in -- I just don't know what it is :-)
What I do is use $ to sync the mailbox (and check for new mail) and
then change [if I still want to]; the odds of mail coming in in that
moment are probably fairly small...
