You mean the dot after TO? That one definatelly does make a difference.
The dot means 'any character except a newline'. The asterix says 'any
sequence of zero or more of occurences the preceding character'. So, .*
means 'any sequence of zero or more occurences of any character except
newline'. Practically it'll match anything.

Putting the dot somewhere else gives the phrase a different meaning.

And for this last asterix, it now says '...-users with zero or more
occurences of at (@)'. Guess you wanted to have '.*mutt-users@.* there.
