This is not just a suspicion. I actually tested this out using Mutt
0.95.1. You appear to be using Mutt 0.93.2. Is there a difference in
how these two versions work?

If you "bounce" me a copy of one of your Notes messages (not the list,
please!), we can see if my version of Mutt works differently with the
document.
