I'll check again on the other machine. 1.7.0 built fine on there, but
hadn't ever built 1.7.1.
On my home machine (10.10.5 / Yosemite / OpenSSL 0.9.8zg), the same
configure line works on both 1.7.1 and 1.7.2, so maybe it is something odd
about my environment.
