The latter, and the distro is Fedora 4. I have two such systems, and output of "mutt -v" is the almost the same on both: Mutt 1.4.2.1i (2004-02-12) Copyright (C) 1996-2002 Michael R. To report a bug, please use the flea(1) utility. except that the other system has System: Linux 2.6.12-1.1398_FC4 (i686) [using ncurses 5.4] (I hope the above is readable? this interface seems not to preserve line breaks on copied-and-pasted text.) Your theory about the Fedora developers patching the code does seem plausible. It's probably worthwhile for me to try your patch on the systems where I have later versions of mutt installed. Easiest option for me would be to install into a non-root user's home directory, however, and I seem to remember (from trying that last fall) that some supporting program (something to do with locking maybe?) only works if installed in a system directory. If that's not a known problem I can try to provide details. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.mutt.org/trac/ticket/3595#comment:5> Mutt <http://www.mutt.org/> The Mutt mail user agent
