You know, that's an excellent point, and a good reminder. So:

I would like to profess that my copy of mutt has been running smoothly for at least a decade. I've fiddled with various patches, but I applied them so long ago I don't even remember them. It's been a reliable workhorse. I use it to fix other people's broken email, I use it to demonstrate bugs in other people's broken email clients. It has never let me down. It's not *totally* bug-free: occasionally I've gotten MacOS to complain about double-free operations, but it hasn't been an easily-repeatable thing, and has yet to actually cause problems. In any event, I've been very happy with mutt for a very long time. HUZZAH!
