The cache is still never used. I am beginning to wonder if something on the system has become misconfigured. This may be unrelated, but I was working on some code earlier and noticed that "make" was rebuilding my whole source tree, rather than just building object files whose source has changed. Am I right in thinking this could indicate a system time based issue? Does mutt use the system time in it's header routines? I'm using ntpd, and after a "ntpd -s" the system time remains correct. I have also verified that the filesystem time is recorded correctly, which it is.
