Doing set ssl_verify_host=no SEEMS to do the trick so far. (I note,
though, that the manual said the default is 'no', but also in the blurb
that the default is for that variable to be set. Doesn't "set" mean
"=yes" and "unset" mean "=no"?).
My hostname in the IMAP url matches the cert hostname. The hostname in
the SMTP url does not, and (I think) that's why it was sending that was
problematic. Reading was always fine. I cannot do anything about the name
mismatch, since the settings are mandated by my hosting company.
