That's probably the case if you do not send your email as plain text (a 
typical Outlook default). Your "email content" is then technically 
encapsulated in a (MIME) "attachement".

Most mailing lists out there only accept plain text email (or mime email with 
at least a plain text version). To avoid such problems, just send out your 
list mails in plain text.

This sounds more as it comes from some Microsoft / O365 or similiar email 
server on your own (or your organisations) side - not the mailing list system 
itself. A list email is technically a new email copy - coming from a list 
server and not the original sender (even if its address is still stated in 
the header - so the message is not incorrect. But ask your admin for more 
details.
