You are forgetting the real purpose of lame is not to process audio; it was a generous gift that some processing is already done with it, but the real solution is to use the proper tools. If you are in a unix enviroment, simply piping the audio to the proper tool before giving it to lame would do. Ideally, you should not even resample or lowpass with lame itself. Else, you have to use the tools available for your enviroment. Maybe you should find a frontend Razorlame like program that could make use of many little applications together. It would be great, for instance, to resample with ssrc and then feed the output to lame. Simple to do it in unix like enviroments, dunno about the "redmond" products. > > Some are arguing against the feature, simply because they don't think > *they* wouldn't use it. In any case, like in any open project, you are not supposed to *ask* but to _give_. That means, do the patch, submit it, and hope for the best. Can't program? That's sad; you can't force anyone to do it for you, specially the few lame developers that are already *very* busy focusing on the priority things. This message goes also to the person requesting better documentation; maybe its time to find the answers for himself, make a patch to update the documentation and submit the changes. Give people, give; don't just ask.
