I know it isn't implemented yet, but Seth seems pretty adamant that 
that's the way that mail encryption should work in Mozilla. He's already 
said that patches that don't follow those guidelines won't be checked in 
(see http://www.mozilla.org/mailnews/mozmail-5-23-log.html)

 From what I know about them, you just encrypt the message along with a 
few special headers with the remailer's public key and send it to the 
remailer, which decrypts and sends the decrypted message (without the 
original headers) to the address listed in the "Anon-To" header. By 
setting up a chain of remailers (encrypting the message for one 
remailer, then encrypting the resulting message for another remailer, 
then for another remailer, etc.) and using a special header that makes 
the remailer wait for a user-specified amount of time before sending the 
decrypted message, you can make an email pretty much untraceable.
