PSM stream converters question

Would it be possible to use this architecture to implement support for 
anonymous remailers? For example, to have converters that encrypt a 
message for Mixmaster, Nym, CPunk, etc. remailers, and to set up a 
message to be encrypted for a path through a user-specified sequence of 
remailers?

I'm not sure if such a project would really belong in the Mozilla trunk, 
but if it were possible it might make a nifty MozDev project.
