I usually start mozilla with the -mail option since that is what I
want access to first.

Thanks, Seth.  Just so we all are clear on my issue(s), the dividing bar
between the folders/newsgroups list and the messages is what Mozilla is
not remembering where I put it last time (at start it is in the middle
of the window.)  Also, I have to turn off the messages window from the
View menu each time I start AND I have to select it twice for it to
work.
