Secondly, with regards to implementing ssl, (and my experience with SSL is limited to enabling it on websites with registrars certificates) I can connect to a webservice over SSL and in the application determine if the web service responded with the correct certification? I guess that makes sense as a browser can determine if the certificate was issued from a registered authority but I have no clue where to look to perform that in C sharp. I guess I would look into how an opensource browser handles it and then see about converting it to c sharp, or better find an open source C# browser.
