I understand what you are saying.

But keep in mind that there are a lot of .Net developers out there that have
no prior experience with apps, and would like to get on this bandwagon. They
not only want to test out an application, but also to see if this is a big
investment on their part, or not. Maybe they have an idea for an app, and
want to see if it is feasible using this framework, before doshing out $400.

I'm lucky that have experience both with Java and .Net, but not many do.

I don't see how my suggestion is different from the one implemented? They
must have some sort of test against device in the startup to stop apps from
running on handhelds? I might be wrong about that, of course. 

I think they need to open up this product more, if they want people to start
using it.
