I definitely care about the size. It makes the app look bloated and it takes a long time to download. You have to remember the quality of networks varies wildly around the world too - I'm in Australia and it's not uncommon for me to be waiting for downloads over GPRS when I'm in a 3G deadzone.
If I see two apps with similar reviews and the size is the difference, one with 100k and one with 5mb, I'll take the 100k. Not just because of the download either, I'll be thinking, 'what the hell is IN there if that other app can do the job at 100k?' Anything you can do to continue to reduce .apk size and improve startup performance will be hugely beneficial. -- View this message in context: http://mono-for-android.1047100.n5.nabble.com/Application-Size-upon-deployment-tp5074555p5075601.html Sent from the Mono for Android mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ Monodroid mailing list Monodroid@lists.ximian.com UNSUBSCRIBE INFORMATION: http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/monodroid
