Dominik,
What features of WCF do you need to use? REST is what I have been doing a
bunch of. I'm finding that rest seems to be really popular in the mobile world.

Now that Joseph mentions it, has anybody tried Protocol Buffers on M4A?
(Not a big fan of WCF and Procotcol Buffers looks much simpler to use)

Hello DominikIf those are your two choices, my recommendation would be to use
.NET 2 Web Services, which is complete and fairly stable. Alternatively, there
are other

approaches you might want to consider, such as Protocol Buffers:

We're still assessing our plans for how to proceed with WCF; however, we
currently have no plans to implement new WCF features, and will primarily focus
any futureefforts into improve the subset of WCF features that are useful to
Mono for Android

and MonoTouch customers.
If you have tried our WCF stack and are mostly interested in when you will seea
particular issue fixed, please make sure that a bug has been filed against the

WCF component for the issue you're
encountering:http://bugzilla.xamarin.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=Class%20Libraries

Hope that helpsJoseph

Hi !

Actually I have to decide between WCF and .net2 Web Service to build a new

webservice I would like to use with MonoAndroid (and later MonoTouch).

So can you give us an update when WCF is out of Alpha state? Is it possible

to get an update with version 2.0? Or can you tell us some details about the

timeline for WCF completion?

Best regards
