After investigated four days in finding the bug, I am quite sure that the problem is the garbage collector. After some time (memory was allocated) I tried to call the garbage collector - GC.Collect(). The result is - the application crashes. It is reproducible. I will file a bug report at bugzilla.xamarin.com.
