It's just not the cost of the license that is involved with a decision to continue using the current mono products. What if I continue (because Miguel said the new Xamarin project will be compatible etc) to use the current mono tools and then suddenly Attachmate issues a cease and desist order to Xamarin?
There's a huge risk involved for companies choosing to continue using mono products in hopes of porting to Xamarin without an agreement between Xamarin and Attachmate.
