About 27 years ago I fitted a Lumenition electronic ignition system to
my 1975 4/4. It has worked fine ever since. The points are removed and
an electronic eye and interupter unit replace them, so any wear in the
shaft is negated. I see that Lumenition is still available, so that
probably says a lot for it.
