Dear PAUSE administrators,
I am interested in adopting the DateTime-Calendar-Julian distribution, by Eugene van der Pijll (CPAN id PIJLL). The most recent release is 2003-03-13. It has nothing in particular wrong with it (no outstanding tickets,) but it occurred to me that the time to adopt a module is before it breaks. My plans if granted co-maintainership are simply to update the metadata, add some CPANTS-style tests, and fix whatever they turn up (not much -- just POD spelling and a couple minor Perl::Critic violations). A couple years ago I adopted DateTime-Calendar-Christian, by the same author. I was unsuccessful at contacting the author, and Dave Rolsky was unable to either put me in touch with him or grant me co-maintainership. DateTime::Calendar::Christian has DateTime::Calendar::Julian as a dependency, and it seems to me that I can not adequately maintain the former if the latter is unmaintained. Because I was unable to contact Mr. van der Pijll last time, I did not attempt it this time. I did contact Dave Rolsky, who recommended me to you. Are you willing to grant co-maintainership to DateTime::Calendar::Julian based on what I have done so far, or would you like me to make another attempt at finding Mr. van der Pijll? Or do something else instead or in addition? With thanks for your time and attention, and all you do for Perl, Tom Wyant (CPAN id WYANT)
