/me 100% agrees :) To give you an example why I think, things should be split into separate tasks or taken away from CPAN (to avoid people think it's outdated), I really recommend taking a look into Alien::SVN, http://pkgsrc.se/devel/p5-subversion or http://pkgsrc.se/graphics/p5-GraphViz and later into http://www.i-scream.org/libstatgrab/ vs. Unix::Statgrab and py-statgrab. We could bundle that - easily using Swig (which is very nice for such language bindings) - but using Swig kills the Perl/Python way. Additionally, we chain a CPAN module to external resources. Unix::Statgrab is loosely coupled and allows several incarnations of libstatgrab - and, much more important - evolve the CPAN module without touching libstatgrab ^^ Cheers -- Jens Rehsack rehs...@gmail.com
