I was unaware that we had any support for keywords. But even if we do, a distro author's idea of what the keywords are may not match the users' or the users' expectations of how to search the cpan. If keywords exist then they might be a good *addition* to the CPAN search tools but can't replace searching by (part of) package name at least until all the infrastructure supports them and they are commonly used.
