Hi all, Lately, I've been thinking that there are many modules on CPAN with old versions still present there (and not only on the BackPAN) - often by previous authors. For example, look at:
http://search.cpan.org/dist/Curses-UI/ It still has Curses-UI-0.71 from February 2002, and many other previous versions. All of this takes space on the CPAN , takes time to mirror and download, and clutters the various interfaces like search.cpan.org. So I've been thinking that maybe we should trim the CPAN and remove older versions like that so it will contain much less cruft. What do you think? Other modules as examples: http://search.cpan.org/dist/Error/ (0.13, 0.14, 0.15) http://search.cpan.org/dist/File-Find-Object/ (0.0.1, 0.0.2) http://search.cpan.org/dist/libwww-perl/ (down to 5.800) Regards, Shlomi Fish -- ----------------------------------------------------------------- Shlomi Fish http://www.shlomifish.org/ Best Introductory Programming Language - http://shlom.in/intro-lang Deletionists delete Wikipedia articles that they consider lame.
