I wasn't asking about P::V's disabled mode (I never use that either), I was
asking if you actually know its performance hit is too much in its enabled
mode. Have you benchmarked?
Yeah, I'd point out that if you're _just_ using it to check for the
presence of certain keys and assign defaults for those not present it
should be pretty quick, at least when you use the XS version.
