I can only get up to the part about removing the Apache::compat dependency. I get errors about the BEGIN statement not being valid when I try and use that.
I'm running RH9, mod_perl 1.99-07, Apache 2.0, Perl 5.8.0, and I did the port using Apache::MP3 3.03..
I think 1.99_07 is your problem, it's too old. Try 1.99_12.
It DOES work witht the Apache::compat dependency..
Knowing that something will be calling Apache::compat, and just following your steps anyway, I run into issue with the section on ModPerl::MethodLookup, in that I can't find MethodLookup.pm ANYWHERE in my modperl installation!
Yup, cause you have an old mp2.
