I used mem=1G because I have 2GB Modules in my system.

If Klaus can tell if the patch he wrote for the 2.6.24 Kernel will 
likely work for newer versions of the linux Kernel I will give it a try 
next weekend with the latest 2.6.34 Kernel. Else I will try older 2.6.26
