Just as a follow-up, in case anyone else is interested, the JVC camera .mod files are successfully and very quickly converted to dvdauthor (cinelerra, etc) ready mpegs with the following three simple commands: - ------ ffmpeg -i mov03d.mod -acodec copy temp.m2a ffmpeg -i mov03d.mod -vcodec copy temp.m2v mplex -f 8 -S 0 -M -o mov03d.mpg temp.m2v temp.m2a - ------ I've loaded them into a script to which I can pass *.mod and it does them all surprisingly quickly.
