        And as I recall when y4mdenoise was being developed that same 
        routine/template has some issues depending on the OS and version of
        g++ being used.

        I think that means there isn't a function to handle "Limits::Log2Bits" 
        with an unsigned argument.  I see "Limits<uint8_t>::Log2Bits" and
        others for int8_t and so on.  Cygwin's g++ isn't treating 'unsigned' 
        as 'uint32_t' it seems.

        Out of my area of expertise - maybe someone (is y4mdenoise's author
        still lurking about? ;)) else can help with this problem.
