Hi David,

I've just finished (somewhat) installing Gentoo on a P3/800Mhz with a
Pinnacle/Miro DC30 Plus. Kernel is gentoo-modified 2.6.10. I really don't
know much about this, but after a few fiddles and recompiles with the
kernel selecting differend modules it all seems to work. I never use
"modprobe zoran" or anything like that. I have coldplug installed and
starting with default runlevel. Everything just works. Well, works...
actually I don't know about that. Haven't really tested it yet, but at
least I get the device nodes setup:

htpc root # ls -l /dev/video*
lr-xr-xr-x  1 root root  6 Mar  8 00:46 /dev/video -> video0
lr-xr-xr-x  1 root root 10 Mar  8 00:26 /dev/video0 -> v4l/video0
htpc root # ls -l /dev/v4l/
total 0
crw-rw----  1 root video 81, 0 Jan  1  1970 video0
htpc root #

Maybe I created the /dev/video symlink myselft for testing purposes,
I don't remember.

I don't know what I can do to help you? But I'll gladely share any
information about setup if you just tell me what to look for :-)

To start with, I'll post my dmesg:

I've cut out a big bunch of messages like this:

Dunno what they are from, maybe I said debug=1 somewhere...
