I tried varying bright, hue, color, and contrast from 0 to 60000 with
v4lctl.
It had no effect on recording or playback.
I verified the settings each time with "v4lctl -c /dev/video0 show".

I hope all this helps.

I'd like to dig deeper into this problem but I don't know where to look.
