Your capture card (you said it was DC10+) has no sound capture capability, so you have to route the camcorder line output to your sound cards line input. > I can hear sound through the speakers while the camcorder is playing. This may seem a silly question to ask, but, can you capture sound normally with another sound capture program (i.e., without trying to use lavrec to capture video)? If attempting to capture just sound with another utility also fails, then you've got a basic problem with your sound system that's preventing lavrec from working, but it's not lavrec's fault, because nothing else captures sound either. You'd need to get that basic sound system problem fixed first before lavrec will work properly. If, however, you can capture and playback sound (just sound) with your setup and a sound capture utility, then that leaves something that is causing lavrec problems. Have you tried using/not using the -U parameter to lavrec? It changes the manner with which lavrec obtains sound samples from the kernel sound driver, and maybe lavrec with -U will work, where without it won't, or the other way around. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
