Apparently, this is almost solved by setting -R 2. Thanks to Ray!

HI!
I have made some tests encoding an NTSC AVI (Xvid) to MPEG2 with transcode/mpeg2enc.
If I use -q 2 or -q 3, I get pulsating (every second or so) block artefacts in the background, which I get not with -q 4.
I have an example to download and would be glad to hear comments: http://www.boerkel.de/q.zip
Please look at the upper left corner of the picture (you may have to zoom a bit).
I have used: -v 0 -I 0 -f 8 -b 5000 -F 4 -n n -p -a 2 -o "out.m2v" -q 3 -K tmpgenc
Software versions: transcode 0.6.12, mjpegtools .93 (RC 4), xvidcore 1.0b3.
Thanks!
Thomas
