Recent version of Ogle? Don't think there have been any major changes
recently though.

That is mentioned in their FAQ - the file playing feature does not
work. Ogle only plays DVDs, not .vob files or VIDEO_TS directories.

mplayer can play .vob files (also Mpeg transport streams, and lots
of other formats).

Possible to try another DVD player - perhaps take the DVD over to
a friend's house and try it?
You might try doing a 'cvs update' on the mjpegtools and ./autogen.sh
again (which should sail thru without trouble now that you've done it
once successfully) - I saw some changes come thru in the last day or
so in mplex.
