Possible to try another DVD player - perhaps take the DVD over to a friend's house and try it? You might try doing a 'cvs update' on the mjpegtools and ./autogen.sh again (which should sail thru without trouble now that you've done it once successfully) - I saw some changes come thru in the last day or so in mplex.
