I have been a longtime user of mjpegtools with great success. I have been following
the threads on the "Users" mailing list with great interest and was interested in
trying the CVS version to gain access to some of the newer features. I did a checkout
of the mjpeg_play module, then used the autogen.sh, after which I invoked make. There
didn't seem to be any problems with the compile, but when I tried to use mpeg2enc, I
keep getting the following error:
"Malloc failed"
After looking at the code, it seems that it is failing at the following place in
encoderparams.cc:
motion_data = (struct motion_data *)malloc(M*sizeof(struct motion_data));
if (!motion_data)
mjpeg_error_exit1("malloc failed");
I have not run a make install on the CVS version yet, as I wanted to make sure that
there were not any problems before I put it into "production", so I am running the
binary from ~/mjpeg_play/mpeg2enc. Could this be the source of the problem?
I am running Mandrake 8.2, but I don't have all of my system information with me, so
if there is any other info that you need, please let me know and I will be happy to
get it to you.
Thanks,
Gene
