Testing out the 0.9.5 (cvs) version of driver-zoran in slackware-9.1 (actually
slackware-current as of Oct 10, 2003, but the changes are mostly security
patches to ssl)

kernel, motherboard, and capture card:
2.4.22-smp, dual pIII, iomega buz

downloaded latest versions of mjpeg project, rebuilt all the dependancies,
then rebuilt mjpegtools:
MA-Zoran-0.0.4
mpeg2dec-0.2.1-mjpegtools-0.7.1
libmovtar-0.1.3
quicktime4linux-1.4-patched-2
mjpegtools-1.6.1.90

driver-zoran is cvs, dated 20030929; got it with:

cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/mjpeg login

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/mjpeg co -r \
ZORAN_VIDEODEV_2 -d driver-zoran-0.9.x driver-zoran

and rebuilt & installed that, too.

lavrec command (as root):
lavrec -fa -iN -t700 -d1 -q100 test10avi
(I was trying to make a really big file to see if it would work)

Then I got a kernel panic!

ksymoops gives a warning, so if this looks flaky, I'll reproduce it and do it
again.
BTW, is there a way to capture the data on the screen without having to write
it all down and type it in?

Last time I did this, there were some debugging options appended to the lavrec
command. If you want me to use them, tell me what they are and this time
I'll put them in my readme for driver-zoran!

Hope this helps.

thanks for your hard work developing this!!

Anyhow, here is what I saw on the screen

<0>Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
In interrupt handler - not syncing

and here is what ksymoops says about it:

ksymoops 2.4.9 on i686 2.4.22. Options used
     -V (default)
     -k /proc/ksyms (default)
     -l /proc/modules (default)
     -o /lib/modules/2.4.22/ (default)
     -m /usr/src/linux/System.map (default)

Warning: You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will
assume that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running
right now and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.
