Hi all, Again sorry for the cross posting, but thanks to all of you who provided me with feedback - much appreciated.
There was one major issues with the tarball - there were a couple of missing files in ppmeffectv. Another user reported issues with imlib usage on his Debian system, so I have changed the configure script so that by default it uses imlib2. If you wish to use imlib instead, use --with-imlib when configuring. A final issue remains to be resolved - that relates to the optional use of the ffmpeg DV codec with the current ffmpeg CVS. Since it works fine with 0.4.8 and by default, libdv is used anyway, I've decided to look into resolving that one later.
