Hello... I've just bought a saa7134 based vt-card, and rigged it to my Buz, The purpose is to free up my vcr (tuner ;o). The saa7134 has a fixed frequency ADC (selectable to 48000 or 32000Hz), which is synced with the video source to prevent drifting. There is a driver with oss support (http://bytesex.org/saa7134/). My ultimate goal is to grap audio from this device and video from the buz. And since it all is fitted into a small formfactor housing with only 2 pci-slots (and a lousy onboard soundcard).
My question goes: Since my soundcard doesn't have mmap og trigger, do I have any options other than adding support for this to the driver? if no. What exactly is trigger support (SNDCTL_DSP_[GS]ETTRIGGER), as I read it it is a method to pause the playing/recording. but can somebody clarify this for me.
