Hallo > I appreciate the input. A question: how do you measure frame drops > while recording to /dev/null ? This test helps (at least for the zoran based cards) to see if the hard disks or controller causes any problems. If you have any other problem like a sound card with a not to stable samplerate you see that also as framdrops.
How did you now measure the framedrops ? In lavrec a framedrop is defined as: video frame that is dropped to maintain A-V sync. Or a framedrop occures when the system isn't able to write the frame down in a certain amount of time. And the last cause is usually that the card misses due to a problem (bad video signal) the frame. auf hoffentlich bald, Berni the Chaos of Woodquarter Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] www: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~gz/bernhard ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Mjpeg-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mjpeg-users
