Thanks for your responses on my question regarding frame drops.
Here is my original email for reference.

I forgot to mention that the input source is a Sony DCR-PC100.

Since some folks said they had no problem using IDE drives,
and other 1394 cards, I went out and got a ATA/100 drive and
a Pinnacle Linx 1394 card.

I'm *still* getting lot's of frame drops. I don't know what else to
try. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ...
