That was a suprise for me. But...yesterday evening I tried to record something and things were broken again.
In between working and not working nothing happened with the machine, I left it as it was came back yesterday evening and it failed. Now there is something in the logs: Jul 6 23:11:14 CBR900RR kernel: msp3400: chip reset failed Jul 6 23:11:14 CBR900RR kernel: msp34xx: I/O error #1 (write 0x10/0x30) Jul 6 23:11:14 CBR900RR kernel: msp34xx: I/O error #2 (read 0x12/0x18) Jul 6 23:11:14 CBR900RR kernel: msp34xx: I/O error #2 (write 0x10/0x30) Jul 6 23:11:14 CBR900RR kernel: msp34xx: I/O error #3 (read 0x12/0x18) Jul 6 23:11:14 CBR900RR kernel: msp34xx: I/O error #3 (write 0x10/0x30) Jul 6 23:11:14 CBR900RR kernel: msp34xx: giving up, reseting chip. Sound will go off, sorry folks :-| So, booted 2.4.20 again and this still works. I can live without 2.4.21 (for now at least) but I curious what I did wrong or what might be wrong/different in 2.4.21.
