The way mplex splits stream is > determined by where mpeg2enc inserts sequence splits in the video stream. > mplex -S parameter is useful only for DVD like streams. See > the manual pages of mpeg2enc and mplex for more details. Small note for the mplex -S option: If you use it, it cuts the stream into several parts. That cut is like how the mpeg videos are cut into several files on a DVD. (The DVD-Player knows nothing about the file structure on a DVD)
If you cut a video that way, the second part has no start (run in segments) like the first part. Several SW mpeg player fail to play back such a "headless" 2nd 3rd 4th ... part of a mpeg video. If you cut a VCD/SVCD like that it is very unlikely that the player wil be able to play it back becuse of the missing run in in the 2nd 3rd .. part. I'm not sure if a DVD that is cut that way, will work. I never had such a big file. I think I remember that Andrew has set the splitting size for DVD to a larger value than the VCD/SVCD default. auf hoffentlich bald, Berni the Chaos of Woodquarter Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] www: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~gz/bernhard ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance Computing Channel http://hpc.devchannel.org/ _______________________________________________ Mjpeg-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mjpeg-users
