~2500kb/s uses a 2X drive mechanism. To go higher than that the player would have to have the equivalent of a 4X CD drive inside. Standard VCDs (~1150kb/s) only require a 1X CD drive transport. One of my DVD players can handle up to about 4500kb/s on a XSVCD before it starts having stuttering problems. > Is this just a limitation of the player or is there any trick that > can enable 3000-5000 kb/s playback? It's a limitation of the CD drive - if it's a 2X rated drive then it can only go up to about 2500kb/s or so. It would be real nice if the DVD player makers would simply use computer 16x DVDROM drives :) Cheers, Steven Schultz [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: With Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Learn to use your power at OSDN's High Performance Computing Channel http://hpc.devchannel.org/ _______________________________________________ Mjpeg-users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mjpeg-users
