Yep -- IANAL but distributing code that is covered by the AAC patents (even
if it's dynamically loaded at runtime we still have to distribute a libfaad
binary with Mixxx) without a license is not ok. This is the same reason we
don't distribute an MP3 encoder with Mixxx. (Once the MP3 patents expire
(2015?) we can link LAME directly into MIxxx.)
Anything the user chooses to do (download or build an AAC plugin, download
LAME) is up to them.
