Yes, you are correct. Only auth is encrypted and currently SMB/CIFS encryption is something that is not supported via Samba. At least not that I can see. In cases were senstive, i.e. our medical imaging data, is being visualized, we employ remote visualization stations, such as the Dell R5400, which provides hardware OpenGL accelerated graphics to view an manipulate this data and this machine. For most other cases people are using the cluster to run various tasks on the data. All other uses are at the risk of the owner. -- James A.
