looks to me like most deskjets (which the OP has) use hpijs/hplip, pcl3 or gutenprint. not foo2zjs. actually, it looks like *no* deskjets are supported by foo2zjs. how do I know that? install the foomatic-db-engine package and use `foomatic-ppdfile -P DeskJet'. or look on openprinting.org.
