If it is 60 Hz you can get by with single link DVI. My avoid list for video chips is Intel and Nvidia. For video look at Via Chrome, openchrome(4) claims Xv and XvMC support. For 3D look at ATI. How is 3D on Chrome? For ATI Radeon, there is a driver feature chart: http://www.x.org/wiki/RadeonFeature We need similar charts for the Rage, Fire* and Chrome families.
