Hello, we have around 20 RHEL/CentOS machines (one of them acting as NIS server) and 3 NetApps at work, but also have 1 OpenBSD (virtual) machine acting as an openvpn-Gateway. Until recently it worked well, but now whenever I reboot it the ypbind would just hang. Does anybody has an idea, how to debug it?
When I run it from command prompt it will hang too and I see the messages (which is strange because Linux machines work fine): YP server for domain abl_bo not responding, still trying YP server for domain abl_bo not responding, still trying When I run fstat in another xterm it will hang too. Here are my config files and the dmesg is at the bottom: r...@ablvpn01:root# cat /etc/rc.conf.local amd=NO lockd=YES pf=YES portmap=YES check_quotas=NO # NO may be desirable in some YP environments yppasswdd_flags=NO # "-d /etc/yp" if passwd files are in /etc/yp r...@ablvpn01:root# tail /etc/passwd _dvmrpd:*:87:87:DVMRP Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin _ripd:*:88:88:RIP Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin _relayd:*:89:89:Relay Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin _ospf6d:*:90:90:OSPF6 Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin _snmpd:*:91:91:SNMP Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin _rtadvd:*:92:92:IPv6 Router Advertisement Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin _ypldap:*:93:93:YP to LDAP Daemon:/var/empty:/sbin/nologin nobody:*:32767:32767:Unprivileged user:/nonexistent:/sbin/nologin _openvpn:*:577:577:OpenVPN Daemon:/nonexistent:/sbin/nologin +:*:0:0::: r...@ablvpn01:root# tail /etc/group _relayd:*:89: _ospf6d:*:90: _snmpd:*:91: _rtadvd:*:92: _ypldap:*:93: dialer:*:117: nogroup:*:32766: nobody:*:32767: _openvpn:*:577: +:*:: r...@ablvpn01:root# cat /etc/fstab /dev/sd0a / ffs rw,softdep 1 1 /dev/sd0d /var/log ffs rw,nodev,nosuid 1 2 # have to hard mount it, OpenBSD doesn't support autofs-mounts :-( ablnas02:/vol/ablhom01/home/afarber /home/afarber nfs rw,nodev,nosuid 0 0 r...@ablvpn01:root# cat /etc/hostname.vic0 inet 10.121.42.31 255.255.0.0 NONE ! route add -inet 172.25.0.0/16 10.121.42.1 r...@ablvpn01:root# cat /etc/pf.conf ext_if="vic0" vpn_if="tun0" vpn_network="10.8.0.0/24" nat on $ext_if from $vpn_network to any -> $ext_if pass in on $ext_if proto udp from any to port 1194 keep state pass quick on $vpn_if r...@ablvpn01:root# ls -ld /var/yp/binding drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel 512 Dec 23 13:56 /var/yp/binding r...@ablvpn01:root# cat /etc/defaultdomain abl_bo Thanks for any ideas Alex OpenBSD 4.4 (GENERIC) #1021: Tue Aug 12 17:16:55 MDT 2008 dera...@i386.openbsd.org:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC cpu0: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5345 @ 2.33GHz ("GenuineIntel" 686-class) 2.34 GHz cpu0: FPU,V86,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,PAE,MCE,CX8,APIC,SEP,MTRR,PGE,MCA,CMOV,PAT,PSE36,CFLUSH,DS,ACPI,MMX,FXSR,SSE,SSE2,SS,SSE3 real mem = 267939840 (255MB) avail mem = 250646528 (239MB) mainbus0 at root bios0 at mainbus0: AT/286+ BIOS, date 07/22/08, BIOS32 rev. 0 @ 0xfd880, SMBIOS rev. 2.4 @ 0xe0010 (45 entries) bios0: vendor Phoenix Technologies LTD version "6.00" date 07/22/2008 bios0: VMware, Inc.
